NEW ECONOMIC REALITIES AND THE PROSPECTS OF THE NATIONAL ECONOMY: EFFICIENCY-ENHANCING IDEAS DEVELOPED BY YOUNG MANAGERS

Abstract

The structural transformations taking place in the global economy, technological transformation, digitalization, integration of artificial intelligence into business processes, restructuring of global supply chains, energy transition and increasing geoeconomic competition impose new requirements on national economic development mechanisms. Under these conditions, reducing dependence on natural resources and capital investments alone, increasing productivity, developing human capital and establishing innovation-based management systems have become particularly important. For Azerbaijan, new economic realities create new opportunities for developing the non-oil sector, diversifying exports, expanding the digital economy, increasing logistics and transit potential, accelerating the transition towards a green economy and strengthening private-sector activity. The role of young managers in these processes is especially important. Young managers are generally more adaptable to modern technologies, digital tools, innovative business models and flexible management approaches. This article examines the main directions through which efficiency-enhancing ideas developed by young managers can be transformed into economic value at the enterprise and national economy levels. Particular attention is paid to innovation, digital transformation, efficient resource utilization, logistics optimization, human capital development, green management, export expansion and public-private cooperation. The study demonstrates that systematic support for efficiency-enhancing initiatives of young managers can contribute significantly to increasing the competitiveness of the national economy, improving productivity and ensuring sustainable economic development.
