THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF REGIONAL ECONOMIC INTEGRATION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE NAKHCHIVAN AUTONOMOUS REPUBLIC

Abstract

In the modern era, ensuring the balanced and sustainable development of regions is one of the key factors enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy. For the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which stands out for its geographical location, exclave status, and special economic potential, the application of regional integration and sustainable development models is of great importance. Within the framework of regional economic theories, the article methodologically analyzes Nakhchivan's current socio-economic indicators, macroeconomic dynamics, and strategic development drivers. During the research, the elimination of regional disparities, the promotion of the green economy, the integration of transport and logistics corridors into the regional economy, and the strategic goals of the "State Program for 2023–2027" are scientifically evaluated. Analysis shows that the efficient use of internal resources, the improvement of the investment climate, and the realization of renewable energy potential are among the main pillars ensuring the long-term development of the Autonomous Republic. At the conclusion of the study, well-founded theoretical and practical proposals and recommendations are put forward to accelerate Nakhchivan's economic integration and mitigate the impacts of adverse factors.
