Historical geography of Nakhchivan crafts in the 19th and early 20th centuries

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, as in all Azerbaijan, one of the main occupations of the population in the Nakhchivan was crafts. During this period, different areas of crafts were developed, and craft centers were created where various craftsmen came together. The handicrafts made by Nakhchivan masters have earned a special place in the Middle East. The development of crafts in Nakhchivan is conditioned by the demand for its products and the level of trade relations. Finally, in connection with the historical geography of crafts in Nakhchivan, we can conclude that crafts prevailed in more than two cities of the region - Ordubad and Nakhchivan.
